Areas around the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal are fantastic for serious bird watchers.
Our expert bilingual naturalist guides will find a wide variety of species for birders.
Birds are most active early in the morning and in the late afternoon as the day cools into evening.
You are most likely to see toucans, parrots, oropendolas, colorful tanagers and parakeets. For the more experienced birdwatcher, we can focus on seeing diferent species of flycatchers, warblers, wrens, antbirds, woodpeckers and other less commonly seen species.

What to bring: Binoculars, insect repellent and rain gear (during rainy season), camera, comfortable clothing, hiking shoes, and light cloth.
Departure: 5:30 a.m and 3:30 p.m
Return: 09:30 am and 6:00 pm
